At St Hilda's Primary School, teachers are pushed to encompass technology into their curriculum. This aids pupils in their comprehension of topics by giving them a more holistic dimension on the subjects.
KooBits, an e-book technology developed to host a range of multimedia tools helps users to come up with interesting and dynamic content. For teachers, KooBits acts as an agent to generate with teaching materials where students can participate during lessons. As a result, students are more attentive during lessons. For students, KooBits motivates them to go beyond their classrooms. They can tap on over 6,000 resources that come with the programme. So far, the students here have easily composed digital books for the all the subjects in the curriculum.
An upper primary school student was all praise for the huge collection of resources that came with the programme. In addition, he felt that the e-book reader is user-friendly and students can easily combine Youtube videos, JPEG images, flash animation and MP3 audio files to get a personalised e-book.
St Hilda's Primary School recently built a library to save the works done by students and teachers. This provides a chance for people to share the digital books and encourages cooperation among the users.
Having Koobits as part of the IT programme has benefited St Hilda's Primary School on a whole. It has helped the school achieve their vision of infusing the use of Information Technology in the aspects of the educational process for the benefits of the entire school community .
